Georgia, 12 - Youth Spirit

I have loved doing all this as I was given the chance to show what I can do. I really enjoyed designing games and activities for the young children for Mayhem Monday's and the Olympics day was the most fun.   I have met lots of new people and made new friends here and I am excited about doing all the things we have planned at  Youth spirit.

It has been really scary and exciting volunteering and working on the Act4Change project and with the new youth group. Beverley has been an amazing support to me and has continuously supported and encouraged me.  Whilst working on various youth projects I have dramatically improved in confidence, and have gained a lot of experience which has opened up new opportunities for me.

This has made a big difference to me having somewhere local to go and meet others who love crafts and have similar disabilities and issues to me.  Since attending the craft group I have started volunteering with a group of teenage girls & helped them to design and paint a mural. I feel so much happier and it's great to share my art & craft skills with others.

OSCARI was formed in January of 2016 following several years of research, work and activity around the villages of Ironville and Riddings.

We want to make a difference, by supporting and encouraging each other to change together.

We want to run more activities, facilitate more groups, help more people and see more of where we live improve and grow.

We already have a number of successful projects and are always on the look out for new and exciting ideas to move forward together in the future.
